Nigel Catholic Church Fete

The 14th of October saw us in Nigel at the annual Church Fete, which is a wonderful blend of South African, Italian and Portuguese food, good music, and of course Caipirinhas! The day begins with Holy Mass, then goes on to the social side of things, and the fete is to raise funds for the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows in Nigel.

Pizza, chickens and more, filling the air with the smells that make you hungry, jumping castles to get the kiddies suitably tired out, WAY too many delicious sweet things from cakes to sweeties, and you have the recipe for an amazing day. This is a fete that we go to often, and they always do such a great job of it. The people in the community all come and join in and the camaraderie is absolutely great. Nigel might be a small town, but it certainly knows how to hold a proper Fete! Rui and Helder Celestino were there to sing all the favorites and he even managed to get some of the visitors to the Fete to join in and sing with him!
